Dominant or not, as we speak English, we show that we are dominated by the USA, i.e. capitalism. Still, the antidote is developing within capitalism. We are the antidote as long as we behave like sane human beings. Socialism is developing, the crude shape is being refined: Worldwide communism was right in providing everybody with food, housing, education, and health care. This was only a first step however, starting from false grounds. You have to go back further than abolishing private property, you have to abolish property at all, starting from abolishing patriarchy (which introduced the concept of property, property of woman), abolishing barter, trade and trafficking, money, economic competition, state, economic growth, capitalism, fascism - a fatal chain reaction. For example, starting from 1500 Euro per month for everybody in Germany would take away the daily worry of food, housing, education, and health care, make most people work voluntarily, and thus abolish the fatal chain reaction. Leading up to people living in a self-sufficient and cooperative way, living up to their sensuous needs. Just to show: There is no need of the "Easterners" to hide their light under a bushel.

No doubt, capitalism and (new) socialism are two different civilisations. But there are also two civilised ways of treating guests, not only Eastern/Western, but also agricultural/urban. Another world is not only possible, but real in any individual's reasonable and sensual behaviour, based on agricultural principles since our food comes from the land - even in capitalism.

Our common topic is the alternative to capitalism, I guess. Because it is obvious that the Empire (money, doll, supermarket etc.) will destroy the living conditions of man. Let the Easterners go. Most of our German Easterners are no longer ravished by capitalism.

Sure, we are different, and we tend to come together where our tongue is spoken. But we shouldn't exaggerate it to "apartheid". A party is casual, and you shouldn't judge somebody by his/her behaviour at a party, but by his/her daily life.

Well, we are not the Emperors. So don't let us tell other people what's good for them. Just affiliate yourself to people you trust, and enjoy life in common. There may be conflicts even in such a community; but they can be resolved in a rational way, not by war. That doesn't mean to cut yourself off from other ideologies. You have to understand them lest they declare war on you, but you don't have to join them. The people Laure mentioned on March 25 are from beyond, from the Empire, however nice they may be.

Olga, before we draw on some writers, we should eleborate on what we think ourselves, we should get to know each other. Then we could answer better to Slavenka Drakulic: European integration is losing its momentum as long as capitalism is not abolished. Anxiety is a bad counsellor, let us retreat to our senses. Don't let time and economy impose on us: Take your time, take your economy, take what you need, neither less nor more. Anxious people take more or less than they need.

That's what I have to say so far. Is it of any use?

P.S.

The Archive texts have puzzling headlines, e.g. "Laure", although the text is by Olga.

Olga, your dater is wrong posting mails on April 16, 2006.

Laure, please don't write in HTML ("formated"), because the lines become too broad for printing, or they have to be converted by WorForWindows first.

Jane, no attachments, please, because they are hard to read.
