RAV-Pressegespräch mit europäischen Anwältinnen und Moria-Geflüchteten
am 17.9.2020 um 10 h (Zoom).

Das Ende rechtskonformer EU-Flüchtlingspolitik

*Moria steht stellvertretend dafür, dass die zivilisatorische Leistung
in Europa, dass sich Staaten Rechten und Pflichten unterwerfen, auf dem
Spiel steht. Anwältinnen aus drei europäischen Ländern erläutern hierzu
ihre Erfahrungen, ein Geflüchteter aus Moria berichtet, was das
Scheitern des Rechts für ihn konkret bedeutet, und Karl Kopp von pro
asyl wird dies in die europäische Asylreform der letzten Jahre einordnen.

Europa, dass sich Staaten Rechten und Pflichten unterwerfen, auf dem
Spiel steht. Anwältinnen aus drei europäischen Ländern erläutern hierzu
ihre Erfahrungen, ein Geflüchteter aus Moria berichtet, was das
Scheitern des Rechts für ihn konkret bedeutet, und Karl Kopp von pro
asyl wird dies in die europäische Asylreform der letzten Jahre einordnen.

Zur aktuellen Situation und den EU-Vorbereitungen auf ein ›Moria 2.0‹
laden RAV und AED-EDL daher für diesen Donnerstag zu einem
Zoom-Pressegespräch in deutscher und englischer Sprache ein.

* Über die konkrete aktuelle Überlebenssituation vor Ort berichtet der
afghanische Geflüchtete *Raed Alabd* aus Moria.

* Die griechische *Rechtsanwältin Elli Kriona* vertritt viele
Geflüchtete aus Moria. Sie erläutert die griechischen und EU-rechtlichen
Hintergründe und Ursachen des Scheiterns europäischer Asylpolitik vor
dem Hintergrund des EU-Türkei Deals und des gescheiterten Ansatzes,
Grenzverfahren als Norm zu etablieren. Auf Grund ihrer Praxis hat sie
genaue Informationen zu den Situationen der Geflüchteten in Moria und
wird dazu berichten.

* Die italienische *Rechtsanwältin Lucia Gennari*, die Geflüchtete auf
Schiffen begleitete, um die sichere Einfahrt zu ermöglichen und auch
viele Geflüchtete aus den italienischen hot-spots vertritt, erläutert
die italienischen Erfahrungen mit dem Scheitern des europäischen
Asylsystems, speziell mit dem hot-spot-System.

* Die deutsche *Rechtsanwältin Berenice Böhlo*, die viele Geflüchtete
vertritt, die aus Griechenland nach Deutschland kommen, wird zu der aus
Sicht von Anwältinnen fehlgeleiteten deutschen Diskussion und den
Erfordernissen, verbindlicher Rechts- und Verfahrensgarantien Stellung
im europäischen Asylsystem Stellung nehmen. Dabei sollen auch die
Forderungen der europäischen Anwaltschaft vorgestellt werden.

* *Karl Kopp von pro asyl* beschäftigt sich seit Jahren mit der
Situation der Geflüchteten in Europa und Griechenland und wird
erläutern, warum aus zivilgesellschaftlicher Perspektive nur eine
grundlegende Reform des europäischen Asylsystems eine menschenwürdige
Lebensperspektive und rechtskonforme Verfahren garantieren kann.

**What’s after Moria?**
**The end of EU refugee policy in compliance with human rights*

RAV and AED-EDL *press conference *with European lawyers and Moria refugees

Moria represents the fact the decisive achievement of European
civilization – that states subject themselves to rights and duties – is
at stake. Lawyers from three European countries explain their
experiences, a Moria refugee concretely reports on the consequences of
failures of national and EU-law; Karl Kopp from pro asyl will place this
in the context of the European asylum reform of recent years.

RAV and AED-EDL invite you to a zoom press conference in German and
English language focusing on the current situation in Moria and EU
preparations for a ›Moria 2.0‹.

* *Raed Alabd, Afghan refugee from Moria*, will report on his current
survival struggle.

* *Greek lawyer Elli Kriona* represents many refugees from Moria
legally. She explains the Greek and EU legal background and clarifies
the causes of the failure of European asylum policy on the background of
the EU-Turkey deal. Due to her practice she has precise information on
the situations of the refugees in Moria.

* *Italian lawyer Lucia Gennari*, who accompanied refugees on ships to
enable them to safe entries into EU harbors; she also represents many
refugees from the Italian hot spots. Lucia Gennari also explains the
Italian experiences with the failure of the European asylum system,
especially with the hot-spot (non)-system.

* *German lawyer Berenice Böhlo*, legally representing many refugees
arriving from Greece to Germany, comments on the misguided German
discussion on indisputable human rights-based requirements, binding
legal and procedural guarantees within the European asylum system.
Demands of the European lawyer associations will be presented.

* For years, *Karl Kopp of pro asyl *deals with the survival of refugees
in Europe and explains why – from a civil society perspective – only a
fundamental reform of the European asylum system can guarantee for a
humane procedural legal process.
