EINLADUNG

Die ehemaligen Guantánamo-Häftlinge Murat Kurnaz und Mourad Benchellali
treffen sich am Montag, den 19. Oktober 2015, im European Center for
Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR <http://www.ecchr.eu/de/home.html> )
in Berlin mit ihren Rechtsanwälten sowie Vertretern von Amnesty
International, dem Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) und Human Rights
Watch. Gemeinsam werden sie über den Stand und die Strategien in ihren und
anderen Fällen in Spanien, Frankreich und Deutschland diskutieren.

Das ECCHR arbeitet seit mehr als zehn Jahren kontinuierlich zu Fällen

twortung/usa.html>  von Folter durch die CIA, durch US-Militärs und durch
britische Armeeangehörige.

Kurnaz aus Bremen (Deutschland) und Benchellali aus Lyon (Frankreich) waren
mehrere Jahre in Guantánamo inhaftiert und wurden dort gefoltert. Sie
kämpfen bis heute dafür, dass die Verantwortlichen, für das was sie erlitten
haben, vor Gericht gestellt werden.

Wir freuen uns Sie gemeinsam mit der Cinema for Peace Foundation und mit
Unterstützung der Bertha Foundation zu zwei Podiumsdiskussion sowie zur
Vorführung des Oscar-prämierten Dokumentarfilms

Taxi to the Dark Side

'Taxi to the Dark Side' (2007) examines the American policy on torture and
interrogation in general, and specifically the CIA's use of torture and
their research into sensory deprivation. The film includes arguments
opposing the use of torture on political and military opponents, as well as
defenses of such methods, attempts by the congress to uphold the standards
of the Geneva Convention forbidding torture, and popularization of the use
of torture techniques in shows like the TV series '24'.
