Con motivo de la entrega del premio Martin Ennals Award 2014 a Alejandra
Ancheita de México les enviamos una declaración de Wolfgang Kaleck,
Secretario General del Centro Europeo por los Derechos Constitucionales y
Humanos (ECCHR) en Berlin.

Alejandra Ancheita es fundadora y Directora Ejecutiva del Proyecto de
Derechos Económicos, Sociales y Culturales (ProDESC) y como tal también
forma parte del comité consultivo del ECCHR (

Wolfgang Kaleck es miembro del Consejo Asesor de ProDESC.

ECCHR FELICITA A ALEJANDRA ANCHEITA POR EL MARTIN ENNALS AWARD

„Todo el equipo del ECCHR transmite su cordial felicitación a Alejandra
Ancheita! Tiene el premio Martin Ennals Award más que merecido. Alejandra
lleva muchos años defendiendo los derechos económicos, sociales y culturales
de los desfavorecidos en México. Junto al equipo de ProDESC ha dado
acompañamiento y apoyo jurídico a trabajadoras, trabajadores y comunidades
indígenas y agrarias frente a intereses económicos de empresas
transnacionales en México evidenciando situaciones de abuso y violaciones a
los Derechos Humanos. En su labor como abogada busca medidas legales
inesperadas e inauditas pero por ello no menos prometedoras. Independiente
del procedimiento o del juicio siempre es además consciente de la dimension
política y social. Como persona es optimista, infatigable e impávida – a
pesar de recibir amenazas de muerte, sufrir calumnias y estar enfrentada a
multiples impedimentos en su trabajo diario. Alejandra es una digna titular
de este prestigioso premio de los Derechos Humanos.“

Wolfgang Kaleck se prestará para entrevistas al término de la gala de
premiación hoy en Ginebra (Suiza).

Alejandra Ancheita ist Vorstandsmitglied und Anwältin des Projekts für
ökonomische, soziale und kulturelle Rechte (ProDESC), in dieser Funktion ist

„Das gesamte Team des ECCHR gratuliert Alejandra Ancheita! Sie hat den
Martin Ennals Award mehr als verdient. 

Ancheita kämpft seit Jahren für und mit den Menschen in Mexiko für deren
wirtschaftliche und soziale Rechte.

Gemeinsam mit ihren Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern von ProDESC aber eben
immer auch mit den Menschen vor Ort arbeitet sie daran, dass Indigene,
Migranten und Arbeiter die Rechte bekommen, die sie haben. Dabei unterläuft
Ancheita immer wieder die wirtschaftlichen, sozialen und politischen
Machtverhältnisse nicht nur in Mexiko.

In ihrer Arbeit als Rechtsanwältin sucht sie nach unerwarteten aber deswegen
nicht minder erfolgsversprechenden juristischen Zugängen. Bei jedem
Verfahren oder Prozess behält sie die politische und soziale Dimension im
Blick.

Als Mensch ist sie optimistisch, unermüdlich und unerschrocken – obwohl sie
Morddrohungen bekommt, Verleumdungen ertragen muss und an ihrer täglichen
Arbeit gehindert wird.

Sie ist eine sehr würdige Trägerin für diesen renommierten Preis.“

her colleagues at ProDESC, has been fighting for many years for and with

In her work, Ancheita challenges the economic, social and political

As a lawyer she pursues the unexpected, but promising legal interventions
and always considers the political and social dimension to every legal
proceeding. 

Despite receiving death threats, suffering defamation and being hampered in
her daily work, Ancheita remains optimistic, tireless and brave. She is a
very worthy recipient of this renowned Award”
