Block-NATO on the streets of Strasbourg

More than 3000 people started the action Block-NATO.
300-400 people are protesting in the city and passed Place de la  
République towards the summit. A group of more than 100 people is  
blocking the north access at Av. Herrenschmidt and another group  
demonstrates at Av. de la Paix. More than 2000 people departed from  
the camp and are still on the way to the summit.   The police has no  
answer to the actions of civil disobedience other then tear gas and  
brutal force. The ban on demonstrations inside the city has already  
failed.

Block NATO aims to effectively blockade and disrupt the NATO summit,  
with thousands of people occupying the access routes to the meeting  
place in Strasbourg in the morning of 4 April, and thus cutting of the  
summit from its infrastructure.
On 3 and 4 April, the heads of state and government of NATO are  
meeting in Baden-Baden and Strasbourg to celebrate NATO's 60th  
birthday. We think: 60 years of NATO are not a reason to celebrate,  
but a reason to resist with acts of civil disobedience! The NATO  
summit, a meeting of a war alliance, does not have any legitimacy and  
that therefore actions of civil disobedience are necessary and  
justified.
