Actually, I'm interested in talking about Dugin and national ideas like "Euroasianism" on this list.

Here on this list we talk about relations and misunderstandings, about cultural differences etc. In many such dialogues, it is hard to take any stand except for cultural relativism because people from the outside are told "they don't understand" some special conditions. But in my experience, this "you don't understand what we collectively understand" stuff is the bullshit that people use to pass off nationalistic and irrational ideas as something else.

So it's very interesting why in some places in Eastern Europe, trying to find some alternative national identifications, or trying to resurrect old-time slavophile-westernizer debates, giving them new twists or redefing their boundaries and participants is common and how these ideas, which would be seen as bullshit in the western context, are given more tolerance when proposed by the other, supposedly downtrodden people.

Dugin is of course a totalitarian. And yes, he meets with "new right" people all the time, like the meeting in London.
This link is mild, but the pro-Putin, pro-empire message is clear.

To get a better feel for what Dugin is saying, you probably have to read many texts. Here is a small collection.
