Daily Advisory for the Week of Protest Against G8

Information on the vigil for the victims of the Israeli occupation of
Palestinian land.

On June 5th Israelis against the G8 (c/o Jewish Voice for a Just Peace
in the Middle East) will hold a vigil on the 40th anniversary of the
Israeli occupation of Palestine following the Six Day War in 1967. This
will take place at the fence protecting the G8 summit in Vorder
Bolhagen, Germany, to commemorate the Palestinians and Israelis, who
have died as a result of the occupation of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip
and the Golan Heights. The vigil will also call to mind the Wall of
Injustice constructed by Israel and tolerated by the G8 States, the Wall
which runs through the Occupied Palestinian Territories and separates
Palestinians from Palestinians, as well as from their places of work and
their land. Organizers of this vigil accuse the Israeli Government and
the G8 States of having thwarted the establishment of a viable and
sovereign State of Palestine and a just peace between Israel and its
neighbor states.

11 A.M. to 13 P.M. at the Security Fence, Vorder Bollhagen, Germany
In memory of the victims of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land
since the War of 5 June 1967

This vigil is part of call for six days of international direct actions
against the occupation, which will take place during the first week of
June in Israel, U.S., Germany and all over Europe.

important industrialized countries and Russia will meet for the ‘G8
Summit’ at the Baltic seaside resort of Heiligendamm, Germany. In recent
years a rising tide of international resistance against this
self-appointed informal world government and its agenda of neoliberal
globalization has forced it’s meetings into further secluded areas,
employing security forces of historical proportion.
