Press Release

To all editorials
24th of May 2007

Press service of the international press group ‘Media G8way’ during the G8
summit protests

In the first week of June, during the protests against the G8 summit in
Heiligendamm, Germany, the international press group ‘Media G8way’ intends, on
the one hand, to transmit the message and critique of summit protestors to the
broader public, and on the other hand, facilitate the coverage of the protests
by journalists. Therefore, we offer the following services to all journalists:

Information about the protest plans of radical-left groups who wish to have
press coverage, as well as contacts to organizers and participants of protest
actions, as well as continuous updates about their actions.

You may receive this information in the following ways:

We will circulate regular press releases from the groups involved in English and
various other languages.

If you have more questions, send us an email: g8-press-int at nadir.org
Or directly phone one of our volunteers:
Alex Smith +49 16092437902 and Jo Smith +49 015774630348

If you wish to meet us in person, we will be available for you from May 31st
until Friday, 8th of June in the region of Rostock, for example:

-	at the Convergence Centre, Ehm-Welk school, Knut-Rasmussen-Str.8, 18106
Rostock-Evershagen. At the Convergence Centre there will most probably be a
working space with an internet connection available for journalists.

-	In the action camps in Reddelich (next to Bad Doberan), Rostock (next to the
“Grenzschlachthof”) and Wichmannsdorf (south of Kühlungsborn) there will be
press receptions at the entrance. Journalists who wish to report about the
camps should register here and can clarify their wishes for interviews, etc. In
order to secure the privacy of the people living on the campsite, journalists
are prohibited to enter the sleeping and private areas of the camp. In order to
take pictures journalists are required to make appointments at the press
reception.

-	On May, 31st there will take place an Open Day at the campsite in Reddelich.
Neighbours and the media are cordially invited to pass by and be introduced to
the camp.

-	There will be daily press briefings by the umbrella coordination of the
protest movement. They will take place at 9am at the Circus tent at Rostock
Town Harbour. Volunteers of ‘Media G8way’ will be present there.
